Productivity drive will get a marketing spin

SINGAPORE - In a few months' time, the national productivity drive will go up a gear, in the form of an integrated marketing campaign to get Singaporeans from all walks of life to embrace the concept. It might seem a throwback to the days of Teamy the Bee, the productivity mascot the Government introduced in the '80s, but industry watchers expect to see something different. It would not make sense, they said, to revive what was a household character for a different landscape and workforce. Mascot or otherwise - the idea was not specifically mentioned in a government tender that closed last week - the authorities are hoping that it can a find a company to develop a campaign that will refine the over-arching theme of "improving productivity ... and bring about more sustainable economic growth".
