Come Nov 1, moneylenders will no longer be allowed to advertise in the papers, or through SMS or fliers

SINGAPORE - Licensed moneylenders will not be allowed to advertise in newspapers or through SMS or fliers, under tighter rules starting Nov 1. Instead, they can only do so on their business websites, in commercial directories, such as Yellowpages, and at their shops. Strict rules will also be imposed on the content of these ads. For instance, moneylenders cannot use that are misleading, such as "loan approvals guaranteed".
