[CNA] Woman fined for faking MCs

SINGAPORE: A former finance assistant from non-profit group the Singapore Muslim Women's Organisation (PPIS) has been fined S$5,000 for forging medical certificates. Twenty-four-year-old Filzah Nadhirah Mohd Saleh admitted on Wednesday in court that she doctored two of such documents from Lifecare Family Clinic on April 14 and 16 last year. She originally faced four other charges for a similar offence but they were taken into consideration. Filzah had appended the dates, serial numbers and the signature of Dr Ang Seng Bin on the medical certificates. She then submitted the forged documents to a manager at PPIS, 36-year-old Rohana Abdul Latip. The court heard that when Filzah started taking frequent medical leave, Ms Rohana decided to check with the clinic about her subordinate's health.
