MFA in contact with S'pore footballers stranded in Italy - Channel NewsAsia: - RIDICULOUS #sgfootball

SINGAPORE: The plight of a 25-member Singapore football team that was booted out of a soccer school in Italy, has raised the concerns of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the Football Association of Singapore (FAS). The MFA said it is in contact with the coach of the Singapore football team stranded in Italy and has been assured that all the Singaporeans - 24 players and their coach - are well. MFA said it has offered the team help to bring forward their date of return to Singapore on the earliest flight, but was informed that they have sufficient funds and planned to return as scheduled on October 19. MFA said it will continue to keep in close touch with the team. The Singapore footballers were booted out of the Genova International School of Soccer, where they were training, and had to leave their hotel.
