Students from top boys school among 14 nabbed in police raid on Sin Ming gambling den
FOURTEEN males - including two students understood to be from a top boys' school - were arrested in a police raid on a gambling den in Sin Ming on Wednesday. Students from polytechnics and secondary schools were found to be engaged in a variant of poker when police entered the house. Two of the suspects were believed to be managing the illegal operation. A neighbour, who wanted to be known only as Madam Ong, said she saw a youth leap out of a second-storey window and flee by running on the roofs of the houses when the police first showed up at the house two weeks ago. Read Madam Ong's account of the incident in The New Paper today (Oct 15).
