Panel by panel: The two comic book artists will be exhibiting both paintings as well as selected original pages

YOU may think graphic novels and fine art make for strange bedfellows. Sonny Liew and Koh Hong Teng would disagree. The two comic book artists will be exhibiting both paintings as well as selected original pages from their graphic novels for their upcoming show at Mulan Gallery titled Sequential Arts: A Comic Art Exhibition. Liew, who received the Young Artist Award last year, will feature original hand-drawn pages from his graphic novels like Malinky Robot. Koh, a receipient of an Arts Creation Fund this year, will meanwhile exhibit those from the second volume of Gone Case, which he created with writer Dave Chua. The exhibition will also serve to launch Koh and Chua's Gone Case: A Graphic Novel Book 2 and Liew's Malinky Robot: Collected Stories and Other Bits, in conjunction with the Singapore Writers Festival.
