Our reader says sexual predators are emboldened by the nonchalant attitude of the public. Agree?

I CAN empathise with Ms Evelynne Leong ('Have female-only train cabins'; last Saturday). However, her suggestion to have train carriages reserved for women to prevent sexual harassment or molestation may be a bit far-fetched. I find travelling on public buses and trains to be very safe, and feel that the current situation does not warrant a female-only policy. Unsavoury characters such as sexual predators can be found at many public places: supermarkets, retail outlets, swimming pools and theatres. It is unlikely that the operators of these places would see the need to have a special arrangement for female patrons. We can help keep sexual predators at bay by standing up to them and reporting their distasteful acts.
