Wall Street versus Main Street: Singaporeans are facing the same problems

The Occupy movement need not follow Wall Street protesters. They have their own problems. We Singaporeans have ours and we do have things to protest about. Yes, we do not have banks that need bailouts but we have Government Investment Corporations that uses taxpayer money but do not need to hold themselves accountable for their losses. We do have poverty in Singapore, just because you do not see them but they do exist and that is because of inequality brought on by unfair governmetn policies. We have a growing number of people owning more debt because of growing prices for food, housing and we always had a cabal of elites that controls the government and expects the populace to do everything they tell us to. So I argue, if anything we Singaporeans DO indeed have things to protest about and DO need an “Öccuoy” movement. So we wait until the next GE to tell the PAP, f*** off.
