#Falcon spotted in heart of city, on #RafflesPlace building

pyjstein: Nah, I doubt that this is one of the trained raptors; it seems that the same individual was seen in April on the same ledge, feeding on a pigeon. The peregrine falcon is known to be a winter visitor, with many migrating from places like China and Japan to escape the cold. There are also resident breeding populations in Peninsular Malaysia, which might account for some local records during the summer months, when the migrants have already headed back north and left Singapore. I for one hope to see falcons breeding in Singapore one day. This will be a good way to keep the numbers of mynas and pigeons down (of course, also good to stop culling birds by laying out poisoned bait)
