SINGAPORE: Police arrested a serial motor vehicle thief within 15 hours after he stole a car on Tuesday. The suspect had met the car owner on the pretext of wanting to buy the car. After they took the car for a test drive, the suspect asked the victim to buy some drinks, and then drove off when he left the car to get the drinks. Following this, the suspect drove the stolen car to commit another offence. He deceived another victim into parting with his handphone on the pretext of buying it. The stolen car was spotted in Joo Chiat Lane on Wednesday and the suspect arrested. Police said preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is believed to be responsible for at least three other cases of motor vehicle theft and at least five cases of cheating. The suspect will be charged in Court on Friday. If convicted of motor vehicle theft, he may be fined and imprisoned for ...
