Indonesia arrests alleged bomb maker over attacks

JAKARTA: Indonesian police Friday arrested a suspected bomb maker wanted over two suicide attacks, including one on a church packed with worshippers, a force spokesman said. Dozens were wounded in the suicide bombing of the church in Solo last month and in a similar attack at a police mosque five months ago in Cirebon, both on the island of Java. Nanang Irawan was arrested in the town of Madiun in eastern Java over both attacks, police spokesman Anton Bachrul Alam told reporters. "He is now under investigation by the anti-terror police," he said. Police had warned that Irawan was extremely dangerous because of his bomb making skills. His arrest came after the anti-terror squad on Wednesday caught the alleged mastermind behind Irawan's network in Cirebon.
