Youth here sincerely believe that Singapore can be a better place and want a fairer society, Ms Tin Pei Ling (Marine Parade GRC) said on Friday. And while she defended their 'loud and sometimes strident' remarks on the Internet as showing they genuinely care about Singapore's future, she also urged them to do more for the elderly. Ms Tin, 27, is the People's Action Party's youngest backbencher and was one of the most talked about and scrutinised candidates in the May general election, especially online. In her first speech in the new Parliament, she made it clear that young Singaporeans were not the over-idealistic, critical and ungrateful lot that some have made them out to be: 'We understand our forefathers have made many sacrifices...
