Labour chief Lim Swee Say defends 'Cheaper, better, faster' slogan, says it refers to products & services, not workers

Labour chief Lim Swee Say on Friday fended off Workers' Party MPs' criticisms of the National Trades Union Congress' push to make local producers 'cheaper, better, faster'. Non-Constituency MP Gerald Giam said on Tuesday that the NTUC was urging Singapore workers to be 'cheaper, better, faster'. On Friday, Mr Lim clarified that the slogan referred not to workers but their products and services. 'There's a fundamental difference,' he said, in a speech that was critical of the opposition MPs, whom he accused of playing politics.
