MFA reiterates Bangkok flood warning

SINGAPORE: Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on Tuesday reiterated its call for Singaporeans in Bangkok to move to higher grounds or areas unaffected by the flooding. A ministry spokesman said the floods in Bangkok remain "very serious". The ministry said it continues to advise Singaporeans to defer non-essential travel to Bangkok until the flood situation improves. In an update on the floods, MFA said that while Don Muang Airport has suspended all flights, the Suvarnabhumi International Airport remains operational. The Singapore Embassy in Bangkok is in close touch with Singaporeans in Bangkok. Singaporeans travelling to Thailand or are in the country are urged to e-register with the MFA so that the ministry can keep them updated on the latest developments and to contact them should the need arise.
