Alexandre Dumas' classic novel is one of those literary chestnuts that Hollywood loves to adapt. Over and over again. Whether it's Richard Lester's 1974 romp with Michael York, Raquel Welch and Oliver Reed, or Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland and Chris O'Donnell in the dopey 1993 Stephen Herek version. And director-producer Paul W S Anderson claims the most recent silver screen version of The Three Musketeers for this generation. Best known for those Resident Evil movies starring wife Milla Jovovich, it's no surprise that Anderson's version is a slick overblown video-game adaptation, complete with the unnecessary use of 3D and a penchant for that overdone slow-motion Matrix-esque action sequences that wore out their welcome a long time ago.
