Settlement reached in suit against cosmetic surgeon - TODAYonline

SINGAPORE - The civil suit against well-known cosmetic surgeon Dr Martin Huang, filed by a former teenage patient, ended on the first day of what would have been a seven-day hearing after the two parties agreed to a settlement yesterday. High Court Justice Tan Lee Meng had earlier called the parties into his chambers to explore a settlement. Dr Huang, 50, apologised for causing distress to the 17-year-old girl, who had gone to him for a scar-removal operation. In her suit, she alleged that Dr Huang was negligent and had committed trespass when she had to remove her underwear for pre-operation photographs to be taken of the scar on her upper left thigh. The girl was in court yesterday and appeared teary-eyed as her parents and lawyers huddled her into the witness room outside the judge's chambers.
