#Table #Tennis - Table tennis Women's World Cup begins on Friday - Straits Times

There aren't many places where reigning table tennis world champion Ding Ning is not a crowd favourite. But China's world No. 2 is prepared to face a partisan crowd at the Toa Payoh Sports Hall after being drawn with Singapore paddlers Wang Yuegu and Li Jiawei in Group B of the Women's World Cup. "I'm expecting the crowd to be fully behind them," said Ding with a laugh. "I'll be prepared for the toughest of matches." The US$150,000 (S$190,000) Women's World Cup begins on Friday, with 19 of the planet's top paddlers doing battle in the round-robin group stage.
