SINGAPORE - NTUC Foodfare cooperative will not increase the price of its beverages, including coffee, tea and canned drinks, for the rest of the year. This will apply to all 40 NTUC food courts, coffee shops, cafes and kiosks. A cup of kopi-o and teh-o costs 70 cents, while tea and coffee with milk go for between 80 cents and a dollar. The market rate for the same items is between 90 cents and $1.20. NTUC said it is committed to holding the price of basic food types like economic rice, yong tau foo and noodles for as long as it can. The NTUC Value Meal, which offers union members dishes like chicken rice at a discount of 5 to 15 per cent, will also be available at all its retail outlets by April this year.
