Lions coach says there's no Singaporean good enough to replace Duric
THE LIONS may never have another striker quite as all-rounded as Fandi Ahmad or V Sundramoorthy. It is also rather unlikely they will have another quite as big and powerful like Aleksandar Duric. But with the 41-year-old Tampines Rovers forward surely at the end of his international career, a ready replacement does not look forthcoming. This is why both national football coach Raddy Avramovic and his assistant Sundram admitted Singapore may once again have to look to the foreign talent scheme to provide a solution. The 61-year-old Serb told The New Paper: "Yes, at the moment, we don't have a ready replacement. That's not an ideal situation, but perhaps it is unavoidable that Singapore must look for new foreign talents." More in The New Paper on Friday (Oct 28).
