Egypt's Hosni Mubarak resigned as President - end of an era in Arab politics

Another problem in Egypt that might arise with the stepping down of Mubarak is that many people or youths of Egypt will be vying for positions of leadership in Egypt. There will inevitably be fights and struggles for power and leadership, which might, in the worst-case scenario create political turmoil. With the rise of Islamic terrorism, extremists or terrorists might even try to make use of the chaotic political situation to assume control over Egypt. Furthermore, looking on the practical side of things, what affects the Middle East affects the rest of the world as the Middle East is a main exporter of oil to the rest of the world. If Middle Eastern politics start to get complicated, there might be a case where oil is in great shortage and there is not enough oil for the world’s population to consume.
