S'poreans celebrate final weekend of Lunar New Year: SINGAPORE: It is the final weekend before the 15-day Lunar

SINGAPORE: It is the final weekend before the 15-day Lunar New Year celebrations come to an end on February 17. And in Singapore, thousands came together for one last round of festivities to mark the Year of the Rabbit. At the crack of dawn, the Singapore Flyer was packed with people who were there for a very special breakfast - a salad dish called yusheng, eaten during Lunar New Year. It is customary for the salad to be tossed as high as possible for good fortune. The event was organised for 646 Chinatown residents and new citizens, and it earned a spot in the Singapore Book of Records for the largest number of people having lo-hei in the air. The event was organised by the Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng Citizens' Consultative Committee. At mid-day, Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong joined Geylang Serai residents for a Lunar New Year lunch, kicking it off with the traditional yusheng as...
