SINGAPORE - It is the final weekend before the 15-day Chinese New Year celebrations come to an end. And in Singapore, thousands came together for one last round of festivities to mark the Year of the Rabbit. The Singapore Flyer was packed with people at dawn yesterday. They were there for a breakfast of yu sheng - or raw fish salad - eaten during the Chinese New Year. And at 42 storeys (165 metres) up in the air, their wishes rang out loud and clear with cries of "Huat ah!" The event, organised by the Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng Citizens' Consultative Committee, was organised for 646 Chinatown residents and new citizens, and it earned a spot in the Singapore Book of Records for the largest number of people having lo hei up in the air. At mid-day, Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong joined Geylang Serai residents for a Chinese New Year lunch, also kicking off with the traditional yu shen...
