SIA confirms name of new budget carrier as Scoot, says it will start flying from mid-2012 and cost 40% less

Ending months of speculation, chief executive of the new low-cost, long-haul carrier Campbell Wilson confirmed the name on Tuesday and said it will start flying mid next year.
