This is a decision made by the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) despite facing resistance from major service providers during a month-long consultation in the middle of this year. Pay-TV contracts have not been regulated as Singapore's content regulator has historically preferred not to interfere with commercial arrangements in the media market. But this time round, the MDA decided to step in citing 'a number of complaints' from consumers about hefty charges in cancelling pay-TV subscriptions after programming or pricing change...
