From Wednesday (Nov 2), Parliament will accept nominations from the public for Nominated Members of Parliament (NMP). -- MY PAPER PHOTO: NEO XIAOBIN By Elgin Toh From Wednesday (Nov 2), Parliament will accept nominations from the public for Nominated Members of Parliament (NMP). The public should submit names of persons who have rendered distinguished public service, or who have brought honour to the Republic, or who have distinguished themselves in the field of arts and letters, sports, culture, the sciences, business, industry, the professions, social or community service or the labour movement, said a statement from the Clerk of Parliament. All nominees have to be Singapore citizens, above the age of 21 and resident in Singapore for at least 10 years prior to the nomination.
