55 CCTVs will be installed at flood-prone areas so PUB could respond faster during heavy rains

SINGAPORE - National water agency PUB is planning to install 55 CCTVs at flood-prone areas in Singapore. This is expected to be completed by early December this year. The PUB said an earlier trial where six CCTVs were installed along Bukit Timah Road allowed it to remotely monitor and respond faster during heavy rains. The announcement comes ahead of an expectation of more rainy days ahead in the next few weeks. The National Environment Agency (NEA) Meteorological Service Singapore said it is expecting average to slightly above average rainfall for the monsoon season, according to numerical weather prediction models. This means there could be more rainy days between mid-November to January. The long-term average number of rainy days is 19 for November, 19 for December and 15 for January. The Northeast Monsoon is likely to dominate Singapore's weather from December to March...
