CNB seizes 2nd largest haul of ecstasy this year

The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) has seized the year's second-largest haul of 'ecstasy' tablets on Thursday night. -- ST PHOTO By Kimberly Spykerman The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) has seized the year's second-largest haul of 'ecstasy' tablets on Thursday night. CNB Officers stopped a suspected drug trafficker at the Tuas Checkpoint around 11pm, and together with the Police K-9 unit, found slightly over 1,000 'ecstasy' tablets in a plastic pack stashed in the engine compartment of the red Mitsubishi Evo. A newspaper-wrapped bundle containing three packs of ketamine that weighed about 300g was also found. The estimated value of all the drugs found is about $52,000. If found guilty of drug importation, the 38-year old Singaporean could be jailed 20 years and caned 15 strokes.
