Govt to extend more support to needy Singaporeans: SINGAPORE : The Minister for Community Development, Youth and...

SINGAPORE : The Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan said the government will extend more support to Singaporeans, especially those who face challenges at a time of rapid economic and social changes in the country. He said this will be the theme of this year's Budget which will be presented by the Finance Minister this Friday. Dr Balakrishnan gave the comments during a visit to Assumption Pathway School on Tuesday morning. The Assumption Pathway School has some 510 students. The school caters to 13 to 16-year-olds who are not suitable for mainstream schools. They include those who have failed their Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE).
