1,189 Private Residential Properties Sold In January 2011: Lowest monthly sales figures since October 2010.

Private residential property sales in Singapore last month fell to a 3-month low, following a slew of anti-speculative measures by the Government. There were 1,189 private homes sold in January 2011 - a drop from the 1,332 units sold in the previous month. According to the latest data by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) , these units sold in January 2011 were located in the following areas: suburban (588 units sold) city fringe (401 units sold) central (200 units sold) The number was higher at 1,534 when executive condominium sales were included. While some suburban homes hit a record-high of S$1,500 per square foot (psf) in December 2010, the number of homes transacted at such prices slipped 13% in January 2011.
