Mr Michael Blum, who has a pilot licence, paid a total of almost $380,000 for two trips into space. His first trip is expected to take place soon after test flights end next year. The 35-year-old will be one of the first people from the Republic to blast off into space as soon as test flights end. 'I've always wanted to be an astronaut since I was six after I watched the first US space shuttle launch on TV,' said Mr Blum, who is a German citizen. To fulfil his childhood dream of becoming an astronaut, the managing director of a Hong Kong-based financial services firm bought a US$200,000 ticket with Virgin Galactic in 2006. Please...
