Canadian man who helped motorist change tyre had good deed repaid, when that motorist saved his life just minutes later

MENOMONIE, Wisconsin (AP) - A Canadian man who helped another motorist change a tyre in western Wisconsin had his good deed repaid when that motorist saved his life just minutes later. Victor Giesbrecht, of Winnipeg, was driving near Menomonie on Saturday evening when he stopped to assist with a tyre change. The Wisconsin State Patrol says the 61-year-old then drove away and suffered a heart attack a few miles later. Mr Giesbrecht's wife stopped the pickup truck and waved her arms, and the motorist whom they had helped just a moment earlier stopped and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Patrol Sergeant Michael Newton told the Star Tribune that if Mr Giesbrecht hadn't helped with the tyre, his rescuer may have remained stranded too far away to help. Mr Giesbrecht was hospitalised in serious condition on Monday.
