New post: Cathay's kungfu security guard in action
I think what was most commendable, as you can see in the video, was that the security guard was always on defensive stance. He did give a few offensive strikes, but mostly to retaliate the key chain vendor’s advances. It was rumoured on Facebook that the security guard was sacked, however, Straits Times reported that he was sent for counselling. As a counsellor myself, I cannot imagine what will go on during counselling. Unless the plot isn’t as simple as what was reported, otherwise, I think the security guard was just defending himself from the attacker. Perhaps the security guard was harsh or rude to the vendor? I don’t know what exactly triggered the vendor to get violent. Perhaps sending the security guard for counselling is Cathay’s calculated move just in case the public reacts negatively to the video and becomes a PR nightmare for them.
