Alcohol ban in NUS campus, NTU halls

SINGAPORE: Preliminary findings from the Los Angeles County Coroner suggest that the death of a student from Singapore in the US was the result of alcohol poisoning. The student from the University of Southern California was found dead over the weekend, days after a party. Channel NewsAsia checked with local institutions if there are precautions in place. The National University of Singapore (NUS) said it bans alcohol on its campus. Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Singapore Management University (SMU) have food and beverage outlets on campus that serve alcohol, but there is an alcohol ban in the NTU halls.
