Former RI principal passes away from dementia

Sigamoney, of Raffles Institution (RI) died on Wednesday from pneumonia. -- ST PHOTO: By Leow Si Wan A former principal of Raffles Institution (RI) died on Wednesday from pneumonia. A.K. Sigamoney, who headed the boys' school from 1978 to 1985, was 81 when he died at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He is survived by his wife Ledsumi Sigamoney and two adult children. Under his leadership, RI achieved a record of 100 per cent of its students scoring three or more GCE 'O'-Level passes in 1984 and 1985.
