Golf: Singapore Open to be reduced to 54 holes due to thunderstorm

SINGAPORE: Thunder and lightning brought day three of the Barclays Singapore Open to a standstill. Play was suspended at 11.54am on Saturday with only a handful of golfers having played their opening holes at the Serapong Course. Tournament Director Mike Stewart confirmed in a statement that the US$6 million event has been reduced to 54 holes and will end by Sunday. Spain's Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano leads the tournament on 15-under par after two rounds. England's James Morrison and Edoardo Molinari from Italy are tied for second place on 12-under.
