JAKARTA - Cambodia's under-23 football team lost their final Group A match 4-1 to Malaysia yesterday at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. They actually did well against a well-rested Malaysian team. The defending champions last game was on Wednesday, while the Cambodians were forced to play four games in seven days. Singapore played three games in five days, and faced the Indonesians on Friday in the afternoon heat less than 48 hours after their second match on Wednesday night. The Indonesians went into that match after four days of rest and duly won 2-0. With Malaysia complaining about their early morning training slot, the hosts have been criticised for a lack of fair play here, but Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) general secretary Tri Goestoro insisted the chaotic scheduling was not their fault.
