Lecturer fined for providing students with exam questions

SINGAPORE - A former lecturer of a private school who showed three students the questions for an upcoming exam - for a fee - was fined $14,000 yesterday. Isabelle Krishnan, 38, received S$450 each from three international students and showed them the questions for an English Language examination during private tuition sessions with them. In the Subordinate Courts yesterday, Krishnan was fined S$14,000 for two charges under the Prevention of Corruption Act while a third charge was taken into account. She was also asked to pay the total sum of money received from the three students. Krishnan, who was a level head for the upper intermediate level at the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS), collated examination questions for the exam to be held on Oct 14, 2009.
