Companies to receive 20% tax rebate

COMPANIES will receive a 20 per cent corporate income tax rebate capped at $10,000, Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam revealed in his Budget speech on Friday. The rebate is to help companies cope with the rise in rents, wages, utilities and other business costs. For small-and-medium enterprises (SMEs), there will be the option of a one-off SME Cash Grant, subject to a cap of $5,000. SMEs will receive either the tax rebate or the grant, whichever is higher.
