Singapore's first e-book service launched

SINGAPORE - Singaporeans can now enjoy an e-book service that specifically caters to their needs. Skoob, Singapore Telecommunications Limited's (SingTel's) latest offering, is a first-of-its-kind e-book service that publishes the works of Singapore and foreign writers, as well as study guides and educational books for local primary and secondary school students. The service is available on Apple and Android operated smartphones and tablets via a free app. It can also be accessed on PCs and Macs using standard browsers. According to SingTel, it is the first e-book service to accept payments in Singapore dollars and offers savings as compared to buying traditional paper books. For example, John Grisham's The Confession can be bought through the service for S$9.00, instead of S$17.07 at a bookstore. Similarly, Neil Humphreys' Complete Notes from Singapore is available at S$13...
