Underwater World S'pore reveals latest and ugliest exhibit, the Hagfish

Underwater World Singapore (UWS) unveiled its newest and most disgusting exhibit, the Hagfish (above), on Tuesday. - PHOTO: UNDERWATER WORLD SINGAPORE Underwater World Singapore (UWS) unveiled its newest and most disgusting exhibit, the Hagfish, on Tuesday. For the first time in UWS, visitors will be able to toggle an interactive video camera that can zoom in on the body parts of this creature known for devouring its food from inside out. As bottom feeders, the Hagfish is an essential part of biodiversity which helps to keep the ocean ecosystem healthy and in the process, ensure the survival of several species of commercially harvested fish. When alarmed, the Hagfish produces copious amount of slime as a defence mechanism. It will then tie itself into a knot and pass the knot down the length of its body to wipe the slime away so as to escape from predators. Mr Anthony Chan...
