DRIVING in Sydney can be difficult at times - the rush-hour traffic, for example, is something you don't want to encounter - but the gamut of gorgeous destinations only minutes from the city centre make it worth the perils. Here's how to get by with your sanity intact. Seat belts are mandatory for everyone in the vehicle The police won't hesitate to pull you over if they see anyone in the car without a safety belt on. Saying that you're from out of town will not stop a fine, which is issued on the spot. A child seat is mandatory If you're travelling with children, you need to get child seats for them. (Even taxis won't ferry children if they're not equipped with child seats.) Just ask the rental agency.
