MFA urges S'poreans to avoid non-essential travel to Bahrain: SINGAPORE: Singapore's Foreign Ministry has urged

SINGAPORE: Singapore's Foreign Ministry has urged Singaporeans to defer non-essential travel to Bahrain. The ministry said it has been monitoring the on-going unrest in Bahrain and notes that there are reports that more demonstrations could be expected over the next few days. It urges Singaporeans already in Bahrain to continue to keep in close touch with the Singapore Embassy in Riyadh, which has despatched MFA officers to Manama since February 17 to monitor the situation and provide assistance where required. Singaporeans should also continue to take all necessary precautions for their personal safety, including monitoring the news closely, avoiding large gatherings and demonstrations and to stay away from areas where they may occur. Singaporeans who require consular assistance should contact the Singapore Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia or the MFA Duty Officer (24-hours...
