Staff sure Borders is not closing down here

SINGAPORE - Go ahead and flip those pages at Borders, for this bookstore is unlikely to close anytime soon. That is the assurance customers have, at least, according to its staff. When MediaCorp visited the outlet at Wheelock Place yesterday, staff members said customers have no cause for concern. The employees believe that the latest reports suggesting financial woes at RedGroup Retail, which oversees Borders here as well as in Asia, Australia and New Zealand, will affect stores located Down Under only. When asked if there was a need to use up pre-paid credits, which are available in the form of Borders' gift cards, employees said there was no rush and that it would even be all right to save it for Christmas shopping. "Even if it were to close down, customers will be given advance notice and refunds if necessary ... but we're not closing down," one employee said. MediaCor...
