SINGAPORE: More than 1,000 participants helped to raise about S$200,000 for the Home Nursing Foundation in a charity walk at East Coast Park on Saturday morning. Patients of the foundation and their families, as well as Minister of State for Community Development, Youth and Sports Halimah Yacob took part in the three-kilometre walk. The money raised from the event will be used to help needy and elderly patients in home healthcare and subsidised nursing services. Last year, the foundation's nurses made more than 23,000 house calls to about 4,000 patients. It expects the number to increase, with Singapore's ageing population.
