Golf: Record crowds expected at HSBC Women's Champions

SINGAPORE: Taiwanese world number one Tseng Yani will lead the charge at this week's HSBC Women's Champions tournament, Asia's biggest women's golf event. The four-day event comes with a bigger prize purse of US$1.4 million this year and record crowds are expected at the Tanah Merah Golf and Country Club. Before their challenge on the greens on Thursday, some of the women golfers took to the catwalk. American Michelle Wie wore the hanbok while her fellow countrywoman Paula Creamer donned a kimono to show off their fashionable side. Adding star quality to the tournament as well as the show was the tournament's defending champion, Ai Miyazato. However, all eyes are likely to be on 22-year-old Tseng, who has scored three straight tournament wins and is the darling of the tournament. She is working hard to continue her winning form.
