More Australians choosing to sink roots in Singapore, drawn to developed systems, lower tax rate & access to big cities

Australian Matthew Bertram packed his bags two years ago and moved his family of four to Singapore after clinching a job here. 'I wanted to move out of Australia, but it wasn't just any country I wanted to move to,' said the IT professional, who was working at Hewlett Packard in Melbourne. When a position at Hewlett Packard in Singapore came up, he jumped at it. Mr Bertram, 40, who is now a permanent resident here, said he was drawn to the Republic's developed infrastructure, lower tax rate and easy access to other major cities.
