Lionel Lewis announces his retirement from international football

AFTER nine years and 73 appearances, Lionel Lewis has finally decided to call time on his international career. The giant goalkeeper, who turns 29 later this month, told The New Paper that he has been mulling over the move for some time, but felt that it was the right time to bow out following World Cup qualifiers against Jordan and China last month. "It has to be about family now," said Lewis, who still has a year to go on his contract with S-League club Home United. Read the full interview in The New Paper on Sunday (Dec 4).
