PAP MPs, activists eye online channels - TODAYonline

SINGAPORE - Following the May General Election (GE) - which underlined the influence of social media - People's Action Party (PAP) Members of Parliament and activists are studying ways to tap the various online channels. Moulmein-Kallang GRC MP Edwin Tong said that since the GE, grassroots leaders at the GRC's Jalan Besar division have been busy looking at different ways to share the constituency's programmes with residents. Mr Aldrick Tay, a grassroots leader in the GRC, added that youth played a "very important role" during the GE and that, come the next election, competition from opposition parties will be more keen. He said: "I don't think we (should) just engage through Facebook, Flicker, YouTube or Twitter.
