SINGAPORE - While the Republic retained top spot for prospects in commercial property investment and development next year, a study released yesterday cautioned that "the environment is now less positive". The Emerging Trends in Real Estate report by the Urban Land Institute and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) noted that the capital for investment and development remains strong, coming mainly from domestic or Asia Pacific sources. But though Singapore continues to be well-positioned due to factors like strong immigration and tourism growth, the market for commercial real estate may have peaked, said the report which was based on more than 360 opinions of real estate professionals across the Asia-Pacific region.
