With five birdies and just a single bogey, the world No 19 leads South Korean and world No 4 Choi Na Yeon (69) by a single shot at the US$1.4 million (S$1.8 million) event at the Tanah Merah Country Club. Top ranked golfer Tseng Ya-ni (68) is a further stroke behind in a tie for third, alongside three other golfers including seven-time Major winner Karrie Webb of Australia. Defending champion Ai Miyazato of Japan struggled to a 74 and lies in a tie for 31st at the Garden Course.
